Welcome to the three-part Survivor Coordinated Access System (SCAS) training series to help provide you with the most current programs and opportunities applicable to survivors.
In this series, Sacramento Steps Forward will help strengthen your social work skills and competencies in relationship to survivors’ needs, making their homelessness experience rare, brief, and nonrecurring. The series will be offered and recorded via Zoom in July and September. Registration is required.

SCAS 101 for Providers
July 23, 2025 (10:00–11:30 a.m.)
The Sacramento CoC provider community will gain a comprehensive understanding of SCAS and federal protections for Survivors under VAWA. Intended for all providers, attendees will learn about partner organizations and VAWA protections for their clients.

SCAS 202 – For New and Existing VSP’s in SCAS
The Sacramento Victim Service Provider (VSP) community will gain a comprehensive understanding of the SCAS, survivor referral process, and system resources. This is open to new and existing VSPs.
Adding Client Participants to SCAS
This training will cover the step-by-step process of assessing and adding a client to the SCAS Priority List. It will also include a demo of adding a test client to SCAS from beginning to end (creating a profile, enrollment, assessment, and SCAS request). This is open to VSPs already in SCAS and certified Sacramento CAS Assessors.
