Here at SSF, we are driven by data-driven best practices and focus on improving the performance of our homeless system and our local projects. As the lead agency that administers the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), our data analytics team is critical to extracting data, analyzing results, transforming information to be accessible, and communicating it widely to the community.

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team: Josh Lowy, Programming Analyst.

We sat down with Josh to learn about his background, what drew him to this work, and what he looks forward to doing in his role.

What motivated you to join SSF? 

Working in tech/IT, it had never crossed my mind that there would be opportunities to support ending homelessness. I was ecstatic to find such an immensely passionate and knowledgeable team at SSF and to put my personal skills towards this vital effort alongside them.

What are you excited to do in your new role? 

I’m excited to optimize some of our reporting methodologies here in hopes of achieving complete automation of some of our frequently-used reports and pipeline the production of more of our public dashboards.

We are looking forward to seeing Josh apply his knowledge and passions in the homelessness space.
