Please mark your calendars! Next Thursday, via Zoom, we will focus on supporting immigrant families and the LGBTQIA+ community in response to current events and our collective request. Please invite staff who might benefit from this information.
We are honored to welcome Karen Rice, a national expert from SchoolHouse Connection. She will provide an overview of federal educational protections that remain in place, practical strategies for supporting immigrant families and youth experiencing homelessness, and guidance on preparing for and responding to immigration enforcement.
Additionally, we are excited to introduce Richard Barton and his team from the Sacramento LGBT Community Center. They will share an overview of the center’s housing programs and the support it offers to students locally.
