Pride Month: Highlighting Sacramento LGBTQ+ Resources

Happy Pride Month! We strive to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its history throughout the year, and you can find a list of Sacramento community resources below to help you do the same.

 

Sacramento LGBT Community Center

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center is a comprehensive resource for the LGBTQ+ community. The center offers a variety of programs and services, including:

 

  • A community center with meeting space, computers, and a library
  • A food bank and clothing closet
  • A youth center
  • A health clinic
  • A transgender resource center
  • A legal services program
  • A mental health program

 

Lavender Library

The Lavender Library is a public library that specializes in LGBTQ+ books, movies, and other materials. The library also offers a variety of programs and events, including book clubs, author talks, and film screenings.

 

Pride Center at CSUS

The Pride Center @ CSUS is a resource for LGBTQ+ students at California State University, Sacramento. The center offers a variety of programs and services, including:

 

  • A drop-in center with meeting space, computers, and a library
  • A peer counseling program
  • A mentorship program
  • A leadership development program
  • A social justice organizing program

 

Gender Health Center

The Gender Health Center is a health clinic that provides transgender health care services. The center offers a variety of services, including:

 

  • Hormone therapy
  • Gender-affirming surgery
  • Mental health counseling
  • HIV/AIDS testing and treatment

 

PFLAG Sacramento

PFLAG Sacramento is a support group for parents, families, and friends of LGBTQ+ people. The group offers a variety of programs and services, including:

 

  • Support groups for parents, families, and friends
  • Educational workshops
  • Advocacy training
  • Social events

 

Trans and Queer Youth Collective

The Trans and Queer Youth Collective is a group for transgender and queer youth ages 13-24. The group offers a variety of programs and services, including:

 

  • Support groups
  • Social events
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Advocacy training
