Per the 2024 CoC Governance Charter, “The Sacramento CoC Board will issue a public call for board members annually.” The Sacramento CoC Board annual recruitment period started Monday, November 18, 2024 through Friday, January 17, 2025. CoC Board applications submitted through the CoC Membership Application will be reviewed by the CoC Governance Committee and Sacramento Steps Forward. At the March 12, 2025 CoC Board meeting, the CoC Board will vote on the appointment of new CoC Board members. Please see the timeline below for the next steps:

The HEARTH Act was signed into law on May 20, 2009. The HEARTH Act amends and reauthorized McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act with substantial changes, including:
A consolidation of HUD’s competitive grant programs
The creation of a Rural Housing Stability Assistance Program
A change in HUD’s definition of homelessness and chronic homelessness
A simplified match requirement
An increase in prevention resources
An increase in emphasis on performance
