Ayanna McGee

Director of System Implementation

Ayanna McGee, the Director of System Implementation with Sacramento Steps Forward, is responsible for driving system-level efforts that enhance and integrate systems of care for people experiencing homelessness. Ayanna is a versatile public health professional who leads with kindness and a deep commitment to health equity. Prior to joining Sacramento Steps Forward, she served as Project Co-Director for the Community Mental Health Equity Project TA Center and the Crisis & Recovery Enhancement TA Center where she coordinated statewide technical assistance initiatives aimed at promoting culturally responsive behavioral health practice. As Grants Coordinator for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, she was pivotal in expanding food access and family support programs for economically disadvantaged populations across Sacramento County. Her professional journey includes over a decade of experience in program planning and evaluation, project management, grants management, and community engagement across nonprofit and public settings. Ayanna holds an EdD in Health Professions and MHA from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, an MPH from George Washington University, and a BA in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara.
